چکیده

A framework for the debugging of formal specifications for Cyber-Physical Systems is presented. Two debugging algorithms are presented. The first checks for erroneous or incomplete temporal logic specifications without considering the system. The second can be utilized for the analysis of reactive requirements with respect to system test traces. The specification debugging framework is applied on a number of formal specifications collected through a user study. The user study establishes that requirement errors are common and that the debugging framework can resolve many insidious specification errors.

Towards Intelligent System Health Management using Runtime Monitoring

System health management is an important feature of autonomy, enhancing consistency checks, overall system robustness and even some degree of self-awareness. Seemingly unrelated, debugging and analysis of such complex systems is another challenge during development that should not be underrated. We propose that the so-called runtime monitoring of relevant properties and system requirements is a...

BraceAssertion: Behavior Driven Development for CPS Application

Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) have gained widepopularity, however, developing and debugging CPS remainsignificant challenges. Many bugs are detectable only at runtimeunder deployment conditions that may be unpredictable or atleast unexpected at development time. The current state of thepractice of debugging CPS is generally ad hoc, involving trial anderror in a real deplo...

Robust Sampling for MITL Specifications

Real-time temporal logic reasoning about trajectories of physical systems necessitates models of time which are continuous. However, discrete time temporal logic reasoning is computationally more efficient than continuous time. Moreover, in a number of engineering applications only discrete time models are available for analysis. In this paper, we introduce a framework for testing MITL specific...

A Methodology for Unified Assessment of Physical and Geographical Dependencies of Wide Area Measurement Systems in Smart Grids

Wide Area Measurement Systems (WAMS) enable real time monitoring and control of smart grids by combining digital measurement devices, communication and control systems. As WAMS consist of various infrastructures, they imply complex dependencies among their underlying systems and components of different types, such as cyber, physical and geographical dependencies. Although several works exist in...
